What made you study Occupational Therapy?

From a young age I knew I wanted to work with others as a health professional, however it was not until I attended a university Open Day that I discovered Occupational Therapy. I was instantly hooked by the idea that I could work with individuals to achieve their goals in a role that is so holistic, diverse and strengths based. Throughout my studies, I developed a passion for paediatrics, particularly as I witnessed firsthand the positive outcomes that can be achieved when working collaboratively with children and their families.

What is your favourite part about working with our participants?

My days are brightened by the smiles that accompany the pride a participant feels when they achieve their goals for the very first time, from being able to tie their own shoelaces, to getting dressed by themselves, to using cutlery without help, to playing with others and having fun!

Can you think of a time recently that made you feel really proud to be working with Better Rehab?

Since I started at Better Rehab, my colleagues have demonstrated such compassionate, considerate, and collaborative approaches to care for our participants. It is so refreshing to be part of a team that celebrates and values each individual for who they are and the experiences they bring. I am grateful to be part of a team that is so passionate and motivated to work with individuals to support them to achieve their goals!

What is something unique or interesting about you?

I love puns, singing in the car at the top of my lungs and building flatpack furniture!
