Functional Behaviour Assessment

Our Positive Behaviour Support practitioners can help assess why you behave the way you do by appraising your physical and social environments and speaking to those who help and care for you. This assessment will help our practitioners in finding information about the context of the behaviour of concern, the skills that might be needed to replace the behaviour and the changes, if any, that need to be made to your environment to help you and your support network feel safe and supported, and live an active and fulfilling life!

Behaviour Support Plan

Depending on the complexity of your needs, our Positive Behaviour Support practitioners, following assessment, will create a behaviour support plan to be implemented by a team of professionals. The plan summarises the supports you, your carers and your family may need in order to make changes within your environment, focusing on preventing, responding to and managing challenging behaviours.

Reducing Restrictive Practices

Our team also aims to support individuals and those around them with identifying and reducing the use of restrictive practices—or practices that restrict an individual's movement and independence—over time. We can support you to understand what restrictive practices are and suggest positive ways on reducing the need for these practices to be in place.
