NDIS Functional Capacity Assessments

Assessing your needs to enhance independence and quality of life

During a Functional Capacity Assessment, your OT will assess your ability to perform your daily activities as well as your mobility, communication, social interaction, learning, and self-management. They will also ask you whether you would like to master any new tasks to enhance your independence and quality of life. The results of this assessment are then given to you and the NDIA to determine the support within your NDIS plan.

Our OTs also perform other critical assessments

Our OTs provide Supported Independent Living (SIL) and Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) assessments to support your independent living goals.

A SIL assessment evaluates your ability to manage daily tasks like cooking, cleaning, and shopping, ensuring you have the necessary support for independence. An SDA assessment reviews your home’s suitability, recommending modifications or alternative housing for accessibility and safety. These results are submitted to the NDIA to secure NDIS funding tailored to your needs.
