[on device] How are you? How are you?

Hi, my name is Lihini and I’m a Speech Pathologist at Better Rehab.

Today I’m going to talk to you about Augmentative and Alternative Communication, or AAC.

AAC involves methods, tools and strategies to support an individual who has difficulty communicating their needs and wants or engaging in social interaction.

Through the use of AAC, individuals can increase their communication independence and even interact with new people, a situation that previously may have felt daunting or impossible.

AAC is not a one-size-fits-all, and may come in many forms. Like this device, for example. Or this one.

As a Speech Pathologist, I can work with you to find the most suitable option for you or your family member.

If you would like more information, please reach out to Better Rehab and our team will connect you to a Speech Pathologist near you.

Thank you for watching.
