We provide services for children and adolescents (aged 6 years and older) with a range of conditions including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Anxiety, Developmental Delay, Cerebral Palsy, Down Syndrome, Intellectual Disability, as well as many other conditions.
At Better Rehab, our Occupational therapists have experience in working with children and teenagers to further develop their self-care (dressing, toileting, grooming, showering), play, social skills, emotional regulation, fine motor (handwriting, shoelaces, finger and hand strength), gross motor (balance, throwing, catching, kicking, coordination), age appropriate domestic skills (meal preparation, cleaning, chores) and executive functioning (planning, organisation, memory and sequencing).
Better Rehab can provide an expert opinion in medicolegal matters. Our assessments
determine the impact of an injury/condition on a person’s life, including activities at home,
work and leisure. A participant’s ability is assessed through medical opinion, observation,
interview and all other available evidence.
Our medicolegal assessments measure the impact of injury and then make ongoing recommendations which may include treatment, therapy, equipment, environmental modifications, transport and care.
We provide opinion for plaintiffs and defendants in motor accident, professional negligence, public liability and work-related injury or illness matters. Our occupational therapists have experience in a wide range of injuries/conditions and their impacts on daily life. These include, but are not limited to, respiratory conditions, successive concussions, spine and brain injuries, and neurological conditions.
Functional Capacity Assessment (for SIL/SDA applications)
Our occupational therapists are able to complete comprehensive assessments to support
clients who are exploring their housing options, including those applying for Supported
Independent Living (SIL) or Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA). We work with you to
explore all areas of your daily living including your support, environmental, therapy and
assistive technology needs.
Our occupational therapists are experienced at developing comprehensive and tailored reports that outlines the client's needs to submit to NDIS.
