Meet Dean!

It’s been an exciting week at Better Rehab as Dean was able to get out of bed for the first time in 20 years! Dean obtained a spinal cord injury and experienced a decline in function over the years. However, thanks to the dedication and help of his wonderful Occupational Therapist’s Emily and Danielle, and equipment suppliers Andrew and Alex from Austech Medical, Dean was finally able to get out and about again!

Emily and Danielle have worked extremely hard, alongside Dean’s support coordinators, to help Dean redefine possible and ensure that he receives a greater quality of life. Dean now has a Permobil Power Wheelchair that he can independently control using switches on his head, elbow and wrist.

Dean was so excited to drive out of his home and feel the sunshine on his face, and he even saw a rainbow! It’s great to hear that Dean can now visit his neighbours independently and we can’t wait to see what else Dean achieves.
