Beck gets her groove back – thanks to Better Rehab OT support!

When Beck seriously injured her spine in an accident, her world was turned upside down. She went from being someone who loved adventure (riding dirt bikes and playing sport with her kids) to no longer being able to go out with friends, walk her dog or even watch her children play sport.

Beck thought life would never be never be the same again – until Better Rehab Occupational Therapist Caitlyn started working with her a year ago.

In addition to home modifications like a wheelchair access ramp, Caitlyn identified how assistive technology could help Beck. Caitlyn arranged for Beck to get a Batec power assist unit and gave her the support and training she needed to use it.

The unit attaches to Beck’s manual wheelchair and is steered like a bike to enable maximum mobility. Beck couldn’t be happier with the result and the positive impact it has had on her sense of independence and confidence:

‘The Batec and front access ramp have changed everything for me! I can now go to so many more places,’ she said happily.
